Did a series of digital painting illustrations on giant panda’s growth stages for River Safari Singapore. This series was actually done last year and I only post it now because the River Safari is now officially opened on 3 April 2013. As usual, these were done for the interpretive panels on the growing stages of giant panda. Reference images were provided on the different stages of the panda. Painted digitally.
I know I have been lagging in updating my site. Been really busy with my life and work 😛 Anyway, did another bird series of illustrations for the Breeding and Research Centre (BRC) interpretive in Jurong Bird Park. However, this time round I do not have to lay the text. It is always so much fun in doing this kind of interpretive illustrations.
I have been really busy with work recently that I almost do not have the time to complete this Chinese New Year Greeting illustration. Finally managed to get it done just before the CNY.
Wishing everyone prosperous, healthy and wealthy year of The Snake. 恭喜发财！万事如意！
Did a simple CNY greeting for my company as well.
More on the series of birds of prey. This series was done in oil painting style and digitally. I’m always thankful that painting can be done digitally. It helps improve my work flow in a lot of ways. It’s faster, easier, less messy and most importantly corrections can be done with ease. I’m not saying that I do not like doing painting the traditional ways (I always enjoy doing art in the traditional ways), but at this point of time, it really helps a lot and I enjoy doing so:)
Before taking up this project, I totally have no idea that there would be a species of eagle that looks like this. The Harpy Eagle. It is the largest and most powerful raptor found in the Americas, and among the largest extant species of eagles in the world. It has such unique head and I was required to draw 3 different angles of it.
A series of birds of prey illustrations done for the Jurong Bird Park. This series was done in pencil sketching style which is a rather rare opportunity and I really enjoying doing it.
